Sunny weather for most again today as an anticyclone lies over the country. Some cloud is likely to affect Fiordland, Gisborne, Northland and many other places morning and night. Along Northland’s east coast and about Gisborne there may even be the odd shower.

Upper North Island

Mostly sunny and clear weather with light winds, sea breezes about coastal areas. Northland will see southeasterly breezes with cloudy areas, there is also the chance of a morning shower about eastern Northland. Gisborne on the east coast will have fairly cloudy skies and easterly winds, chance of a light shower there at times.
HIGHS: 24-27, 22 in Gisborne

Lower North Island

Mostly sunny weather out west with afternoon sea breezes. Sunny in Wellington with northerlies tending southerly in the afternoon, northeasterlies on the east coast with mostly sunny skies although there may be some cloud morning and night.
HIGHS: 22-26

Upper South Island

Sunny weather for most with some cloud possible morning and night, morning fog about Canterbury gradually clears by midday. Expect sea breezes in coastal areas and light winds inland.
HIGHS: 21-27

Lower South Island

Sunny skies for most with some cloud possible morning and night. Light winds inland, sea breezes for Southland and coastal Otago. Cloudy periods in Fiordland however with northerlies.
HIGHS: 21-29

Warmest – Central Otago, Waikato

Windiest – Southeasterlies about the tip of Northland

Sunniest – Waikato

Wettest – Most places are looking to be dry but eastern Northland and Gisborne may get a touch of the wet stuff
