Two large highs sit either side of New Zealand today, a series of fronts moving over the country in the middle bring rain especially for western regions.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
Mostly cloudy with patchy rain or showers, humid northeasterly winds.
Highs: 16-19

Western North Island (including Central North Island)
Mostly cloudy, a few showers spread into Taranaki in the morning then elsewhere during the afternoon. Rain moves into most places by evening with heavy falls possible then easing overnight. Northerly winds.
Highs: 16-18

Eastern North Island
High cloud, may be a spot of rain in the evening. North to northeasterly winds.
Highs: 17-19

Wellington
The odd shower, afternoon / evening rain. Breezy northerly winds.
High: 16

Marlborough & Nelson
Some rain, clearing at night. Rain may be heavy about Nelson for a time in the afternoon. Breezy north to northwesterly winds.
Highs: 15-16

Canterbury
Morning spots of rain then a mostly sunny afternoon, breezy north to northeasterly winds ease during the day.
Highs: 17-19

West Coast
Heavy morning rain then easing to showers by midday as breezy northeasterlies change northwest. Showers clear overnight with a southwest change.
Highs: 13-15

Southland & Otago
Occasional showers for Southland, some sun may break through at times. Central Otago has sunny areas and some cloud, some scattered rain spreading from the west for a time in the afternoon. Coastal Otago sees morning high cloud then mostly sunny conditions. North to northwesterly winds.
Highs: 12-15
