A ridge stretching out from an anticyclone in the Tasman Sea brings mainly settled weather to most of New Zealand today.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
Sunny with for most. Some cloud and the risk of a shower at times for northern Auckland, Great Barrier Island and about Northland, especially in the east. Southeasterly winds.
Highs: 14-15

Western North Island (including Central North Island)
A mostly sunny day with light winds.
Highs: 10-13

Eastern North Island
Cloudy areas break to some sun from afternoon, Gisborne however sees cloud hang about for most of the day. Light winds.
Highs: 10-13

Wellington
Morning cloud with the risk of a shower then becoming mostly sunny in the afternoon, southeasterly winds fade away.
High: 13

Marlborough & Nelson
Mostly sunny with light winds.
Highs: 12-13

Canterbury
Cloudy areas break away in the afternoon becoming mostly sunny, light winds tend northeast around midday.
Highs: 9-11

West Coast
Sunny spells with light southwesterly winds, cloud may be more persistent nearer the coast.
Highs: 10-12

Southland & Otago
Sunny spells for Southland, may be a shower late evening. Otago is mostly sunny, any early mist or fog about inland areas breaks away. West to northwesterly winds, generally light.
Highs: 6-12
