A westerly airflow lies over New Zealand today, a weakening front pushes northwards over the South Island during the day.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
Mostly cloudy, risk of a shower or two otherwise mainly dry. The Bay Of Plenty is mostly sunny. Southwesterly winds.
Highs: 17-18

Western North Island (including Central North Island)
Mostly cloudy, risk of a shower or two otherwise mainly dry. West to northwesterly winds.
Highs: 13-17

Eastern North Island
Sunny with some high cloud later in the evening, light winds.
Highs: 17-19

Wellington
A mix of sun and cloud with northerly winds.
High: 15-16

Marlborough & Nelson
Mostly sunny with some afternoon / evening high cloud, light winds. Southwesterly winds for Nelson.
Highs: 17-18

Canterbury
Mostly sunny with some high cloud, light winds tend northwest.
Highs: 16-17

West Coast
Mostly cloudy, rain for South Westland eases to showers in the afternoon. North Westland is mainly dry however a few showers manage to move in around evening. Light winds.
Highs: 13-14

Southland & Otago
Cloudy areas and a shower or two at times for Southland, Otago sees any early showers clear then becoming mostly sunny. Northwesterly winds tend westerly in the afternoon.
Highs: 14-16
