Weather headlines (x3) this weekend: Showers in the west today, Low moves in Tuesday, Plenty of rain for some in Australia

Here’s what is making the weather headlines this weekend.

A FEW SHOWERS IN THE WEST, MAINLY DRY AND SUNNY IN THE EAST

A west to southwest airflow remains over New Zealand for Sunday, expect some cloud and a few showers for western regions and about the far south. Many eastern areas are dry – but an isolated shower and some cloud is possible.




SETTLED ON MONDAY, LOW MOVES IN ON TUESDAY

A large high covers New Zealand on Monday bringing frosty, settled and mainly sunny weather with light winds. On Tuesday a low and front combination moves in from the Tasman Sea bringing rain to the West Coast, becoming heavy in the afternoon. This front pushes off the South Island overnight and onto the North Island.





PLENTY OF RAIN COMING UP FOR NORTHERN AUSTRALIA

The rain outlook for the next 7 days shows most of Australia being dry but parts of the Northern Territory through to Queensland and eastern New South Wales has some heavy rain on the way. For more on this rain check out this video from the BOM in Australia.

New Zealand has wetter weather in the west and drier weather in the east over the next 7 days, parts of South Westland look a little dry too.
