Here’s what is making the weather headlines today.

VERY FROSTY THIS MORNING FOR THE SOUTH ISLAND

Some high pressure brings settled conditions and clear skies to much of the South Island this morning, so this means very frosty temperatures. Some could get down to around -10 this morning about the Main Divide.




INSTABILITY IN THE NORTH

Thunderstorms were lurking around Auckland on Monday night and there is a chance of further storms for Northland today, the result of converging winds, reasonable surface moisture and cold upper air temperatures.

HIGH PRESSURES STARTS OUT FOR THE SOUTH ISLAND ON FRIDAY

A high is still forecast to spread over the South Island on Friday then expand over the North Island on Saturday, this brings settled and no doubt very frosty conditions.
