WEATHER ON SUNDAY

A northeasterly airflow lies over the North Island, showers for Hawkes Bay down through to Wellington ease in the morning then clear up in the afternoon. Gisborne sees sun after some morning cloud clears. A mix of sun and cloud out west, high cloud increasing too. Rain moves into Northland during the afternoon pushing in from the northwest, rain spreads over the upper North Island in the evening, with rain comes the chance of heavy falls. Some rain even spreads into the east coast overnight.

Drizzle or a few showers for Nelson and Marlborough clear up in the afternoon then expect high cloud, rain pushes in from the north overnight. Some cloud in the east, perhaps a drizzle patch, this cloud should gradually clear in the afternoon but then expect sun and increasing high cloud. The West Coast has sun and thickening cloud, perhaps a shower overnight. Winds from the northeast.
