For those have flown we’re used to a little bit of turbulence from time to time.
If you’ve flown into Wellington you’ve probably experienced some fairly bumpy landings too. However Wellington airport is lined up to take on the gale southerlies or gale northerlies head on.
Some airports aren’t so lucky and have to contend with a strong cross wind – a severe wind pushing the side of the plane rather than coming at it head on. This makes landing extremely difficult as the gusts blow the plane off course.
