A weak southerly for Thursday and Friday will bring a few showers up the country – and a few may linger over the weekend at the top of the North Island, otherwise many places are leaning drier than average. 

Low pressure is growing over Australia, the tropics and the Southern Ocean though – and there are signs the high pressure belt may finally see some breaks as we go into April.
