If you need rain then there is some (patchy) good news. A low will cross NZ on Wednesday with a front, then another low (possibly larger) may come in by next Monday.
The chaotic set-up feels like Autumn and brings a variety of temperatures over the coming week in some places due to the mixture of airflows. Northerlies, westerlies, easterlies and southerlies are all in the mix with sub-Antarctic and sub-tropical airflows also in the forecast.
It’s generally milder this week than last week. Rainfall chances are there for dry regions – but please note, this is not a silver bullet to fix dry conditions, but it should be some helpful rain to those who get it.
We have a detailed rain and temperature forecast through to Monday for you…

Hi there, there’s a low to moderate risk of an isolated thunderstorm in Auckland on Wednesday during the day but hard to say if there will be a weak localised tornado – they are always generally possible when thunderstorms are around. Keep an eye on the rain radar tomorrow and the lightning information we have.
