VIDEO: NZ’s last days of August turn windy westerly

High pressure covers most of NZ to kick off August’s last week, but a huge area of low pressure by this weekend will bring a surge of windy westerlies over the nation, lasting into next week too.

This will bring winter weather back to some regions with late week snow in the Southern Alps, coming into the North Island’s Central Plateau this weekend.

Those in the eastern North Island will be exposed to the windy westerlies – which hopefully will also blow away cloud and showers which has been sticking around a lot lately.

We bring you the latest forecast – and why some weekend downpours weren’t forecast accurately for everyone, Have a great week ahead!
