Thursday’s national forecast: High pressure for most, showers remain for a few

> From the WeatherWatch archives

High pressure expands further across New Zealand today with almost every region completely dry with light winds.

However, one region stands out from the others and that is Northland where either an area of rain or downpours will be tracking in from the east.

There’s a risk of an isolated thunderstorm in the northern half of Northland too.

Northern Auckland, well north of the city, might have a shower as might East Cape and Gisborne – otherwise dry.

Coromandel Peninsula looks fairly cloudy with the chance of a shower in the easterly flow.
