NZ VIDEO: Westerly gales, polar air – but a touch of spring

Temperatures will continue to rise in most places over the next couple of days ahead of two polar changes coming into the country.

The first polar change arrives on Friday, with some wind, rain and snow.

The second larger polar shot of air looks to be on Sunday, along with damaging westerlies in some parts of the North Island in particular.

Eastern areas look driest. September kicks off windy with westerlies – but there are some signs of more high pressure returning after that.

We give you the forecast for the end of August and the first day of September.
