Anticyclonic weather returns with one centred right over the country today. So mostly settled weather can be expected, but still, a few features are about. Mainly a trough about northern parts of the West Coast in the South Island, this will deliver the odd shower to Buller and Tasman. Northland will likely receive a few showers and Gisborne may do too.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato, CNI & BOP
Mostly sunny skies with light winds, a few clouds mainly in the east about Auckland and north of there. Northland especially in the east will see cloudy spells during the day and even the risk of a shower at times.

East of the North Island
Sunny spells and some cloud with southerly breezes, chance of the odd shower just on the coastline. Gisborne is likely to have a few showers during the day which clear overnight.
Highs: 19-20

Wellington & Western North Island
Sunny with light winds tending easterly or southeasterly.
Highs: 18-21

Nelson
Sunny and cloudy spells, light northerlies. A few showers possible inland about the ranges in the afternoon.
Highs: 20

Canterbury & Marlborough
Sunny skies with easterly breezes in the afternoon especially about the coast. Some cloud may develop overnight about the Canterbury coast.
Highs: 18

West Coast
Sunny areas and some cloud, light northerlies. About Westport and north of there expect mostly cloudy skies with the odd light shower, a few showers further inland about Buller and Tasman too mainly in the afternoon.
Highs: 18-19

Southland & Otago
Sunny skies with light winds, a few clouds about mainly for Southland.
Highs: 16-20
