Low pressure covers New Zealand today with a centre off to the west of the country in the Tasman Sea and another off to the northeast of the North Island.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
A chance of morning fog then expect a mix of sun and cloud, a few showers move into northern Northland from afternoon. Light winds tend southwest in the afternoon.
Highs: 15-19

Western North Island (including Central North Island)
Early fog possible then expect a mix of sun and cloud, light winds tend to the south in the afternoon.
Highs: 14-17

Eastern North Island
Mostly cloudy skies, rain about Gisborne (possibly heavy) spreads southwards during the evening. Winds are variable tending to the south in the afternoon.
High: 14-16

Wellington
A mix of sun and cloud with northerly winds, tending southerly in the evening.
High: 15

Marlborough & Nelson
Mostly sunny weather, light northerlies tend southerly later in the evening bringing some cloud. About Nelson and the Sounds cloud is a little more persistent with the chance of a shower or two.
Highs: 14-16

Canterbury
Mostly sunny then some mid level cloud develops from afternoon as light winds tend southerly.
Highs: 12-15

West Coast
Morning showers then sunny areas develop in the afternoon, northeasterly winds.
Highs: 14-16

Southland & Otago
A mix of sun and cloud, there may be some morning fog for inland areas. Chance of an isolated shower or two about Southland, mainly afternoon. Light winds.
Highs: 12-13
