An anticyclone sits out to the east on Saturday, a northeasterly airflow moving around this high lies over New Zealand during the day. This is a time where places like the southwestern corner of the North Island and Southland see warm temperatures and light winds and this is the case tomorrow. Expect afternoon highs between 18 to 19 degrees for these areas.
Northland and Auckland can expect temperatures up in this range also however expect breezier winds, Northland especially in the east sees the odd shower also.
Nelson and most of the West Coast barring Fiordland sees the lowest temperatures reaching up to 14 degrees.
Warmer than average overnight Saturday for the South Island, most of the North Island is fairly average but in the east light winds and clear skies bringing cooler than average overnight lows. Frosts aren’t looking likely but lows down to 4 or 5 degrees are possible.
