It will be a generally quiet Saturday for most of New Zealand.  A few showers will be possible about eastern sections of the North Island as an onshore flow sets up for Gisborne and northern Hawkes Bay.  Meanwhile, a weak area of low pressure will provide a low risk for shower along the western section of the Mainland this afternoon and tonight.

Upper North Island

A mainly cloudy sky for most areas.  A mix of clouds and sun for inland Waikato.  A chance for showers about Gisborne and northern Hawke’s Bay.  Southwesterly breezes.

Highs: 20-24 along the western shore of Northland and East Cape/Gisborne.  24-28 elsewhere

 

Lower North Island

Mainly cloudy skies with a few peeks of sunshine inland.  A few showers are possible for Hawke’s Bay.  South to southwest winds.

Highs 18-22 in the south and east, 22-26 in the west.

 

Upper South Island

Mainly cloudy skies with a few peeks of sunshine inland.  A very low risk for showers in the west.  West winds in the west.  East winds in the east.

Highs 18-22

 

Lower South Island

Mainly cloudy skies.  A low risk for showers in the west in afternoon and in the west and eastern Otago during the evening.  East to northeast winds.
