High pressure covers most of New Zealand today. Within this high an area of low pressure lies to the west of the West Coast, this combined with a few weak frontal features brings cloud and a few showers to parts of the South Island. Mainly settled for the North Island.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
Mostly sunny with light winds, there may be areas of low cloud or fog morning and night. Light winds.
Highs: 16-19

Western North Island (including Central North Island)
Partly cloudy skies, chance of a shower about Taranaki and Kapiti, light winds tend to the south in the afternoon.
Highs: 9-15

Eastern North Island

A mix of sun and cloud, afternoon easterly winds.
Highs: 14-16

Wellington

Mostly cloudy, risk of a shower. Southerly winds.
High: 12
Marlborough & Nelson

Morning cloud, risk of a shower then sunny areas increase from afternoon. Southerly winds.
Highs: 15-17

Canterbury

Mostly cloudy, morning showers about inland areas clear. Cloud breaks to some sun before dusk. Southerlies tend east to northeast by evening.
Highs: 10-12

West Coast

Showers for South Westland, morning showers further north breaking to sunny spells. Afternoon northeasterly winds.
Highs: 13-17

Southland & Otago
A mix of sun and cloud, east to northeasterly winds.
Highs: 10-12
