Mainly settled for New Zealand today due to a ridge of high pressure, departing southerlies bring cloud and a few clearing showers to the eastern North Island.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
Sunny with southeasterlies easing, tending southwest in the afternoon for western regions.
Highs: 14-16

Western North Island (including Central North Island)
Sunny with southeasterlies dying out in the morning, west to northwest winds from afternoon. Evening cloud for Kapiti.
Highs: 10-14

Eastern North Island

Morning cloud clears Wairarapa then sunny, morning showers clear Hawkes Bay then sun increases from afternoon. Showers linger about Gisborne through till late afternoon before clearing. Cool southerly winds ease during the day.
Highs: 11-13

Wellington

Any morning cloud clears then sunny, light southerlies tend north to northwest in the afternoon.
High: 12

Marlborough & Nelson

Sunny, light winds tend north to northwest in the afternoon.
Highs: 13-16

Canterbury

Sunny, light winds, perhaps tending northeast near the coast in the afternoon.
Highs: 13-16

West Coast

Sunny areas and increasing cloud, some drizzle possible later in the day. Light winds then afternoon west to northwest winds.
Highs: 12-15

Southland & Otago
High cloud increases in the morning, northwesterly winds. Afternoon east to northeast winds possible about coastal Otago.
Highs: 14-17

i thought you weather people said a la nina was coming not an el nino it feels more like the latter a la nina would be justice all this southerlie weather in rececnt years
