I still cant get over the fact that they are allowed to build these power stations in these locations in the first place.
With a highly active and well known/documented thrust fault system just out off the coast, a fault well known for generating large waves relatively frequently – it seems (even without retrospect) that this whole unclear disaster has been nothing less than a fine display of the utter negligence of all parties involved.
IMO – constructing these power stations in these coastal locations along their East Coast is comparable to New Zealand building one with 2-3 km of the Alpine Fault, which is, I’m sure you would agree – is a crazy notion.
It would be nice to see Japan now motivated to lead the way with safe, cheap and environmentally friendly energy. They have always being a leader with technology, so here’s hoping they now have the motivation other nations are lacking and forage ahead with new concepts and technologies in the energy sector.
At least that way ‘from a lot of bad would come a whole heap more good’.
Just my thoughts…
A few of them.
