Rain is falling, with some heavy falls in some southern and western areas of the mainland this morning. Torrential rain has been reported off and on overnight in Milford Sound with rain easing a little in the last hour.
Some showers have moved through the Waikato and also Taranaki this morning.
Winds haven’t quite reached the levels expected at this point but strong gusts are being reported up to 90 kph in a few inland areas.
