A series of fronts and low pressure weakens over New Zealand today especially for the North Island.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
A chance of morning fog then expect sunny spells, a few isolated showers possible also, mainly afternoon. Light winds. Northland sees morning showers then becoming few and far between, winds light from the southwest.
Highs: 15-17

Western North Island (including Central North Island)
Patchy rain or showers mostly clearing this morning then areas of sun breaking through. Showers may hang about parts of the Manawatu through till evening. Light east to northeast winds.
Highs: 13-17

Eastern North Island
Some rain, heavy fall possible. Breezy east to northeasterly winds.
Highs: 15

Wellington
Morning rain eases to showers, clearing by evening. East to northeasterly winds.
High: 15

Marlborough & Nelson
Patchy rain or drizzle, clearing early afternoon then some sun breaks through. Easterly winds.
Highs: 13-15

Canterbury
Mostly cloudy, a few light showers also mainly Banks Peninsula northwards. Parts of South Canterbury may see some sun at times.
High: 10

West Coast
Mostly sunny with light winds, Buller may have some cloud and the risk of a shower or two.
Highs: 14-16

Southland & Otago
Mostly sunny after any morning low cloud or fog breaks away, light east to northeast winds.
Highs: 10-12
