Mid afternoon update

WeatherWatch.co.nz

> From the WeatherWatch archives

Most of the country is bathed in sunshine this afternoon with temperatures a little higher than this time yesterday generally.

A string of 16s and 17s litter the northern part of the country with plenty of blue sky about. The east of the island isn’t faring quite so well with some more liquid sunshine and cool temperatures.

Inland areas of the mainland are the coolest at the moment with Wanaka still feeling the cold on 7 degrees and Queenstown is currently on 9.
Invercargill is enjoying a very pleasant afternoon and nudging 15 degrees.

Tonight looks as if it’ll be another chilly night with clear skies in many places and frosts quite commonplace in a number of areas south of the central North Island.
