Hurricane Bill remains a major Category 4 hurricane on the Saffir-Simpson scale today… 5 is the highest.
The hurricane is tipped to strengthen even further meaning even though the powerful storm is likely to miss a direct hit to the United States it’s huge winds could drive damaging and dangerous seas along the eastern coastline.
The tourist islands of Bermuda may be in the firing line for a direct or near hit.
Winds are now averaging an incredible 215km/h with gusts even higher.
Further strengthening is predicted. The air pressure is currently 948hPa.
Another hurricane hunter flight is currently enroute to investigate Bill.
