Southwesterlies continue today, mainly settled for most regions however some cloud brings a few showers for the far south of the South Island and western parts of the North Island. Anticyclonic conditions for most of New Zealand on Friday bringing mainly settled weather, a few showers about some coastal fringes however.
A few showers push into western parts of the North Island today, especially afternoon onwards. Sunnier and drier along the east coast however there may be some cloud in the evening. A mostly sunny day for the South Island after a frosty start, showers continue about Southland and expect some cloud at times for Otago.
Mainly sunny for the North Island on Friday, a few morning showers north of Auckland clear away. A coastal shower or two affects the coastal fringes along the east coast. The South Island has mainly sunny weather, there may be some cloud at times in the east however and about Southland / Otago. Coastal Southland and coastal Otago may pick up a shower or two also, mainly morning.
