An anticyclone brings mainly settled weather on Thursday, a front moves onto the lower South Island later in the evening or overnight.

Mostly sunny with some cloud at times for most North Island regions on Thursday, there could be some morning fog about the Waikato. The South Island sees sunny areas and some high cloud, rain moves into Fiordland / Southland later in the evening or overnight.
