Low pressures lies over most of New Zealand on Thursday with a low centre moving over the North Island from west to east during the day. A trough moves over the upper North Island overnight bringing some potentially unstable weather.

Wet weather for much of the North Island on Thursday, heavy falls possible for the Wairarapa. Later in the evening / overnight heavy falls move through Auckland northwards with a chance of thunderstorms and hail.

Dry weather for the West Coast of the South Island during the day, also many other areas in the morning then a few showers move in during the afternoon.
