InfoGraphic: The Big Picture for Saturday / Sunday

> From the WeatherWatch archives

High pressure stretches over the South Island on Saturday while a southeasterly airflow lies over the North Island bringing mainly settled conditions. High pressure covers much of the country on Sunday however Tropical Cyclone Hola looms to the north with heavy rain possibly affecting Northland later in the evening or overnight.

Settled on Saturday however a light shower or two still affects the east coast of the North Island and perhaps eastern parts of Northland during the day. Any morning cloud about the South Island’s east coast breaks away then it will be mainly sunny.

Sunday is looking mainly settled also however high cloud thickens over the North Island especially the upper half with rain and strong winds developing in the far north later in the day or overnight as Tropical Cyclone Hola moves in from the tropics.
