A ridge covers the country on Saturday bringing mainly settled weather. Northwesterlies build over the South Island on Sunday while a ridge sits over the North Island.
Mainly settled on Saturday, generally mostly sunny but there may be some cloud about at times especially morning and night. Chance of a shower in the afternoon / evening about the Bay Of Plenty and in particular East Cape.
For the North Island conditions are still mainly sunny, expect some cloud at times. Chance of an isolated shower late afternoon / evening about the Coromandel and Bay Of Plenty. Gusty northwesterlies develop over much of the South Island with cloudy skies and drizzle or rain in the west, high cloud out east with warm temperatures.
