Anticyclonic conditions brings mainly settled weather for the South Island on Saturday, southeasterlies for the North Island bring rain in the east and the chance of a shower out west. A ridge brings mainly settled weather to the country on Sunday with morning frosts for many especially inland.
Rain for the eastern North Island eases to showers in the afternoon on Saturday, sunnier conditions out west however an isolated shower may spring up about southern Auckland, Waikato and Bay Of Plenty late afternoon / evening. The South Island has mostly sunny weather, some cloud develops about South Westland late afternoon / evening.
Mostly sunny for the upper North Island on Sunday, some cloud possible at times in the west especially towards late afternoon / evening. Cloud breaks to some afternoon sun for the eastern North Island, cool southwesterly winds ease. Mostly sunny for the lower western North Island however there is the risk of an afternoon shower otherwise mainly dry. Some cloud for the West Coast of the South Island with showers about Fiordland, mostly sunny elsewhere after any morning cloud breaks away.
