Low pressure hangs around New Zealand on Friday and Saturday bringing mainly unsettled weather.

Areas of rain about central New Zealand may be heavy at times today, more so about the upper South Island. Showers or cloud for other regions with the driest weather existing about Otago and Southland.

Showers affect all regions on Saturday, some may be heavy with an isolated heavy fall about some inland areas, perhaps even a thunderstorm or two about the North Island and inland eastern South Island. Winds are light coming in from the northerly quarter.
