InfoGraphic: The Big Picture for Friday / Saturday

> From the WeatherWatch archives

A southerly airflow lies over all of New Zealand on Friday, showers or rain in the east while conditions are drier and sunnier out west. High pressure brings mainly sunny weather to the South Island on Saturday, a southeasterly airflow lies over the North Island.

A cool day for eastern New Zealand today with showers for most regions, morning rain may be heavy about Hawkes Bay and Gisborne then easing from afternoon. Drier conditions for western New Zealand, chance of an isolated shower about Northland and Auckland in the evening.

Much more settled on Saturday however a light shower or two still affects the east coast of the North Island and perhaps eastern parts of Northland during the day. Any morning cloud about the South Island’s east coast breaks away then it will be mainly sunny.
