> From the WeatherWatch archives

A ridge covers New Zealand on Friday, extending out from an anticyclone in the Tasman Sea.

Mainly settled on Friday, along the North Island’s east coast a few morning showers or drizzle patches clear then some sun breaks through from afternoon, cloud may hang on about Gisborne for most of the day however.

Mostly sunny for the South Island, expect some cloud at times about Southland and along the West Coast.
