High pressure covers much of New Zealand today, easterlies flowing around the high push over the North Island bringing showers with unstable falls possible.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
A mix of sun and cloud, afternoon isolated showers possible especially Auckland southwards. Evening rain develops for Bay Of Plenty and perhaps Waikato. Light winds.
Highs: 15-17

Western North Island (including Central North Island)
Partly cloudy, a frosty start inland. Isolated afternoon showers, one or two may be heavy with thunder. Light winds.
Highs: 10-16

Eastern North Island

Cloudy areas with showers, isolated heavy falls and thunder possible. Easterlies.
High: 13-15

Wellington

Partly cloudy, isolated showers this afternoon and early evening. Light southeasterlies.
Highs: 13-15

Marlborough & Nelson

Partly cloudy, a few isolated showers possible from afternoon, clearing in the evening. Light winds.
Highs: 13-15

Canterbury

Cloud or perhaps some fog morning and night, sunny spells otherwise. Drizzle at night Banks Peninsula northwards. East to northeasterly winds.
Highs: 12-13

West Coast

Sunny, a few afternoon clouds about the ranges. Light winds.
Highs: 12-15

Southland & Otago
Morning frosts and perhaps some fog then sunny, light winds. Coastal Otago has morning cloud and the chance of a drizzle patch then breaking away, winds tend northeast.
Highs: 12-13
