A southwesterly airflow pushes in over New Zealand today bringing rain or showers to most regions but this will ease this evening.
Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
Showers thinning out from afternoon with sunny spells increasing, rain about Bay Of Plenty and East Cape eases this afternoon and clears evening. Southwesterly winds freshen.
Highs: 20-23
Western North Island (including Central North Island)
Rain eases to showers in the morning, thinning out in the afternoon with sun breaking through as northwesterlies gradually shift around to the south.
Highs: 16-21
Eastern North Island
Northerlies with rain, it may be dry in the morning for Hawkes Bay though. Southwesterlies freshen in the afternoon bringing showers, clearing overnight.
Highs: 21-23
Wellington
A few spits and sunny spells, gusty northerlies ease. In the afternoon a strong southerly change moves through bringing showers, clearing evening.

Marlborough & Nelson
Mostly sunny for Marlborough with north to northwesterly winds, a southeasterly wind change late morning brings cloud and a few showers, clearing evening. Nelson has a mostly sunny day with southwesterlies.

Canterbury
Rain pushes through first thing in the morning, temperatures may be warm for northern parts of North Canterbury before rain moves in. Rain eases afternoon then clears evening. Southwesterlies, gusty about the coast die out at night.

West Coast
Morning rain eases to showers then starting to clear from the south with sunny spells breaking through. Southwesterly winds.
Highs: 14-18
Southland & Otago
Morning rain (possibly heavy) eases to showers around midday, clearing overnight. Southwesterly winds tending to the west in the afternoon, winds gusty about coastal parts.
