With nine consecutive days of 23 degrees or more, Brisbane is the place to be if you are looking for a some winter sunshine.
In Brisbane, yesterday and today reached over 23 degrees, and the next week is forecast for a run of similarly warm weather. The pick of the days will be between Tuesday and Thursday when the mercury rises into the mid 20s.
The warm spell comes amidst a period of prolonged dry for Brisbane. The city is currently experiencing its fourth driest April to July period on record, and only 6mm for July so far.
A low pressure trough will sweep through southeast Queensland later on Saturday evening, bringing the risk of some much needed rainfall for the city’s gardens. However, rainfall totals will not be significant, with falls only in the order of a couple of millimeters.
The skies will clear again for Sunday and remain sunny and warm for the remainder of the week as a broad region of high pressure plants itself over the sunshine state.
