Heatwave conditions persist in Western Australia and will spread across the country with record challenging heat.
On top of the heat, sustained winds of more than 30 km/h are likely to keep the bushfire threat high.
Much warmer trends in WA moves south on Saturday and expand eastwards as we head into next week.
SA will be engulfed Sunday onwards. The hot air mass, over 40C, will reach Western QLD and NSW next week.
Much of Australia will experience 40C or more next Wednesday – or later next week.
There is a possibility that maximum temperatures through inland QLD, NT, and SA may touch 50C, which could break December heat records.
Active thunderstorms in southeastern QLD will start to ease on Saturday, but attention for locally heavy rain, flash flooding, damaging winds, and hailstorms is still required.
