All tsunami warnings now cancelled

> From the WeatherWatch archives

The Pacific Tsunami Warning Centre has now cancelled ALL tsunami warnings across the Pacific Ocean.

As of 11:15pm Sunday significant “dangerous” swells (or ‘surges’) are still affecting New Zealand’s east coast.

WeatherWatch.co.nz advises boaties and swimmers to AVOID east coast beaches until at least noon Monday.  From noon WeatherWatch advises people to be well aware of the heightened risk of dangerous/deadly rips and currents.

Conditions should ease completely by Tuesday.
