We have some weak fronts moving up the country bringing some rain to the south and showers here and there elsewhere.
Generally speaking rainfall totals are not big, with highest totals in the west and south west (of both islands). 15 to 30mm looks like the higher values.
But many places have either no rain coming, or just a few showers over the next three days. Driest will be the upper North Island furthest away from the wet weather coming out of the Southern Ocean.
The incoming “cool down” is also fairly weak with a number of places warmer than average on Saturday and around normal on Sunday (although on Sunday some in the very south are cooler than average while some in the very north are warmer than average – but both are only slightly different from normal).
