Wind and showers now easing

> From the WeatherWatch archives

It’s been a wet and wild week for some areas this week as a rough Autumn system moved through.

However this evening WeatherWatch.co.nz forecasters say the worst is now behind us with wind and showers expected to ease overnight and further during Friday too.

Latest satellite and radar images show the bulk of the heavy showers now clearly east of New Zealand and while a few are still lurking in the Tasman Sea those showers will become much lighter this evening in places like Auckland and Waikato.

The strongest winds are also moving east so expect the gusty southerlies and sou’westerlies to ease back significantly tonight or during Friday.

By Friday evening a large high will start to push in from the west promising a dry and mostly sunny and calm weekend.
