HEAVY RAIN SPREADS SOUTH
Rain is fairly persistent for much of Canterbury on Sunday with the heaviest falls likely north of Banks Peninsula, finally rain starts to ease on Monday.
The precipitation percentage of normal map below shows how Canterbury and especially North Canterbury / Kaikoura has more rain than would normally be expected at this time of year over the next seven day period, most of this rain will fall in the next 3 days.
The map below runs from Saturday 22nd July through to Saturday 29th July. Blue colouring means that part of the country is likely to see more rainfall than would normally be expected at this time of year, red means less rainfall is expected and white is an average amount of rainfall. The more intense either red or blue then either scenario is more true.
