Weekend ends on a high

> From the WeatherWatch archives

A strong and large high that came from south of Australia will today cross the North Island bringing another pleasant Autumns day to all regions.

Despite some coastal cloud yesterday the country had mostly sunny and mild weather even if the temperature in the shade didn’t reflect it.

Highs across New Zealand today will be between 16 and 23 degrees for most places.

The centre of the high will move onto the North Island today but will continue to spread over the South Island too with mostly dry, sunny, calm weather predicted right over the country until at least Thursday.

On Friday WeatherWatch.co.nz forecasters believe a band of rain will move in from the west with a northerly flow building ahead of it.

Next weekend will likely see rain or showers spreading into many regions as a large low moves in from the Tasman Sea.
