WAIKATO NORTHWARDS TO SEE SHOWERS TODAY

A small easterly surge brings a few showers to the upper North Island today, showers spread from western Bay Of Plenty / Coromandel moving in elsewhere by midday then clearing away this evening. Any shower activity will clear the Waikato a little earlier though with sun breaking through there this afternoon.

A COOL START IN THE SOUTH

Temperatures are a bit chilly this morning in the far south, inland parts of Southland and Otago starting out around 3 or 4 degrees.

Thursday morning sees chilly temperatures in a similar range spread into the Central Plateau.

DAY TIME HIGHS WILL GET WARMER IN THE EAST

It will feel cool today in the east but do not fear, from Thursday it will progressively get warmer. This weekend the weather is looking particularly good, Sunday especially sees highs in the east getting into the mid to late twenties.
