Here’s what is making the weather headlines today….
NICE DAY IN THE EAST
A west to southwesterly airflow over the country means eastern regions are the place to be, in the west and for Southland we are going to see occasional showers. There is a weak front brushing the east coast of the North Island which may bring some cloud for a time but it stays dry.
A bit cool to start the day also with a frost possible especially for the inner South Island.
WATCHES / WARNINGS ISSUED FOR THURSDAY
Metservice have issued quite a few watches covering the South Island for Thursday’s incoming weather, mostly pertaining to wind but we have a rain warning for Fiordland also.
More details here.
POTENTIAL FOR VERY STRONG NW WINDS THIS WEEKEND
While we have the potential for strong westerly quarter winds tomorrow Thursday, this coming weekend could see winds get even stronger. Overnight Saturday into Sunday morning especially in regards to the eastern South Island and through Cook Strait, something to keep an eye on.
Please tune in to our daily video presented by Philip Duncan released around midday for more details on the weather coming up.
