Here’s what is making the weather headlines today…..
COLD YESTERDAY, WARMER TODAY – EASTERN SOUTH ISLAND
It was a cold day yesterday for the east coast of the South Island thanks to rain or showers and southerly quarter winds. Blenheim though was warm in the morning before rain moved in during the afternoon.
High’s yesterday were:
Dunedin – 12.1
Christchurch – 12.4
Kaikoura – 11
Blenheim – 17.5
High’s today:
Dunedin – 17
Christchurch – 18
Kaikoura – 17

As you can see in the maps below the North Island overall is warm today and was warm yesterday too.
FROST RISK THIS MORNING – SOUTH ISLAND
Cold temperatures this morning for the inner / lower South Island, a light frost or two thanks to clear skies last night. A chance exists again overnight tonight but it is much less, mainly only about the Main Divide.
FRONT TUESDAY NEXT WEEK
The weather is reasonably tame for most of this week. Next week on Tuesday is when our next front of substance moves north over the country, expect heavy rain in the west and drier warmer weather in the east.
