Here’s what is making the weather headlines today….

A COUPLE OF NICE SETTLED DAYS

Most regions across the country are going to be settled today and tomorrow, Fiordland will likely see a few showers though especially today.

This morning will likely be cold though especially for the North Island, the frost risk subsides after today.

We’ll have mainly sunny weather but will also see areas of high cloud.

Temperatures are going to warm up too, warm temperatures continue on Friday although the West Coast will be cooler with cloud in a northerly airflow.

WINDIEST THROUGH COOK STRAIT AND DOWN SOUTH

Winds for most are going to be light to moderate today, but through Cook Strait and about coastal Fiordland expect strong winds, generally from the northerly quarter.

FOG CHANCES – NORTH ISLAND

Thanks to high pressure, clear skies and light winds there exists a chance of fog during the nights for the North Island over the next three days. The risk isn’t overly great this morning but picks up on Thursday and Friday mornings.
