We’ll get MetService to look in to this.
The data comes from them and is automatically uploaded.

Unusual temperature for Hororata. Surely it should read 25C as that would seem appropiate for readings in the Selwyn area today.

Come on 30 in Grey and only 23 in Hoki – nah somethings wrong.
Have a look at our Hokitika GUARDIAN FROM 2 FEBRUARY AND THEIR STORY ABOUT MASSIVE DIFFERENCES IN HOKI TEMPS AND WHY MET SERVICE GIVE A LOWER TEMP THAN THEIR OWN EQUIPMENT SHOWS.

MetService has since said that the variance in temperatures could be because different media outlets report for different time periods, ie, one outlet could report the max temperature up until 4pm, while another does until midday and yet another until 9am. It’s due to deadlines.
Still haven’t explained the difference in rounding though. It has been scorching in Hokitika lately.

You show Wellington as 17c,the tv1 channel showed it was 21c today.

For the last two days you have given the low as 15 in Hororata — not only too coincidental but also not possible — check the temperature for Darfield (about 10-20km away from Hororata): 23 yesterday and 25 today.
Is it not possible to run a plausibility check before putting the ‘daily highs’ up?
