Wednesday’s national forecast – Complex low continues

A large complex low continues to bring some unsettled weather today, most regions see some wet weather but conditions are a bit drier in the east north of Banks Peninsula.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
Partly cloudy, occasional showers in the west becoming more widespread in the afternoon. Showers may become heavy in spots with thunder then easing overnight. Northwesterly winds.
Highs: 20-22

Western North Island (including Central North Island)
Partly cloudy, occasional showers, one or two may be heavy especially afternoon. North to northwesterly winds.
Highs: 16-21

Eastern North Island

Mostly sunny with some high cloud, morning spits of rain clear Wairarapa. Later in the day there could be a few further spits of rain. Light north to northwesterly winds.
Highs: 21-25

Wellington

Partly cloudy with the odd spit or shower, northerly winds.
Highs: 18-19

Marlborough & Nelson

Sunny spells, showers later in the day or overnight. Light winds.
Highs: 19-21

Canterbury

Mostly cloudy, showers south of Banks Peninsula, showers spreading a bit further north in the afternoon, eventually turning to rain Banks Peninsula southwards. Southwesterlies tend to the south around midday.
Highs: 16-17

West Coast

Dry for Fiordland with sun and southeasterlies, further north conditions are cloudier with rain (chance of the odd heavy fall) and easterlies, rain eases or clears up later in the day however showers remain north of Greymouth.
Highs: 16-19

Southland & Otago
Rain or showers with south to southeasterly winds.
Highs: 13-16
