Wednesday’s national forecast – Another low moves in to the South Island (+11 Maps)

> From the WeatherWatch archives

High pressure remains stuck over the top of the North Island as another weak low moves into the lower South Island.

This next low is more of a Fiordland and south western rain event, which is better news for Otago and South Canterbury following recent localised floods. However, there is the risk of isolated thunderstorms in similar places tomorrow. (North Canterbury, South Canterbury).

Much of NZ is warmer than average today, or about right for this time of year.

The North Island, Nelson, Marlborough and most of Canterbury is dry today.

Refer to your LOCAL and HOURLY forecasts for the next 10 days for more details.

I have always the use of shades of blue for little or no rain confusing. Wouldnt it be better to use dark blue for lots of rain , white for little or no rain? Keep up the great work.
