Sunny weather spreads in to a number of regions today with showers lingering around the north eastern North Island – like East Cape and Gisborne. Sunniest weather inland. Warmer than average for a number of places this afternoon.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
A mix of sun and cloud with light winds or SW breezes.
Highs: 18-22

Eastern North Island
Sunny and cloudy areas but cloudy weather the further north you go with showers around East Cape and Gisborne. Light winds or light southerlies.
Highs: 17-19

Western North Island (including Central North Island)
A cool start around Central Plateau with snow on the mountains – a Mostly Sunny mild afternoon for most though. Light winds or light southerlies.
Highs: 17-21 

Wellington
Mostly Sunny , light winds.
Highs: 16-17

Marlborough & Nelson
Sunny or Mostly Sunny with light winds., light winds but brisk Nor’Westers about the sounds and Cook Strait.
Highs: 18-22

Canterbury
Mostly sunny. Light winds. Cloudy areas may increase later with an easterly in coastal areas.
Highs: 15-16

West Coast
Mostly Sunny with light winds.
Highs: 17-18

Southland & Otago
Cloudy near the southern coastline, sunnier spells elsewhere. Light winds.
Highs: 16-17
